My on-and-off-again photography hobby might see more ‘on’ than ‘off’ this next year…
It was long past time to replace the ol’ D70, and I found a spectacular deal on a refurbished D7100 before the holidays. I couldn’t not pull the shutter.
I got a nice gift from Santa, too — a Sigma 10-20mm wide-angle lens. It’s … wide.
Now, I’m to the point that had made me reluctant to upgrade — editing. These ~5MB jpgs and ~30MB RAW files really chew on the system resources pretty fiercely.
It’s also pretty amazing that, not even five years ago, I shot 60GB of pics on my first trip to Germany (and needed a bunch of CF cards AND and external HDD to accomplish that). Now, I could do that on two SD cards (and not even remove them from the camera!)
Technology relentlessly marches on.
