For some time now, my “main” PC has been loud enough that I can still hear it with my Logitech G930 headset on my head.
Mostly, I think it’s cooling fans working harder than they should need to. It’s an AMD8350, along with a Radeon R9/280 in an old Antec 902 case. It might also be a whiny PSU.
Because I seem to be ‘getting old’ when it comes to problem-solving, I am not particularly interested in doing “this or that” to solve the problem (mostly because it means taking everything apart multiple times). While the “shotgun approach” isn’t always the greatest, it’s focused in on cooling and quietness this time.
What’s the ‘shotgun’ loaded with this time? On to the next post…
